Give me deliberate words,
not the hollow repetitions of the day,
abound with vacuous sentiment
and odious platitudes.
Even if vicious or mounrful,
unleash those truths long buried
under your tongue,
hostage to fear and convention.
Labour to release them,
knowing all too well that
words are weak vessels for meaning.
Yet without them we stand upon desolate shores,
swirling in sound
but signifiying nothing.
